1. Who we are
Flit is made and sold by Fore Studio, the trading name of Atta Ur Rehman Shah, sole trader. Buying, downloading or using Flit means you accept these terms. Payments, receipts and VAT are handled by Paddle.com Market Ltd, our merchant of record, whose own terms cover the transaction itself and who will appear on your card statement.
2. The license
$49 USD buys a permanent license to run Flit on up to 2 Macs that you personally use. During the launch period the same license is sold for less, and a launch license is identical in every way. Immediately after checkout you receive a license key by email; paste it into the app once and it activates offline and permanently. It is a license for one person, not a household, team or company pool. It does not expire, does not phone home, and cannot be revoked remotely, because there is no server to revoke it from.
A team license is per Mac: one key, valid for the number of Macs bought, for use within one organisation. Volume prices are on the pricing page. The same rules on resale and sharing apply to it.
The license is yours; the software stays ours. You may not resell, redistribute or share license keys, and you may not rebrand or rehost Flit as your own product.
3. Updates, the optional renewal, and Lifetime
Your purchase includes 12 months of updates, delivered in the app. After that you may renew for $19 for another 12 months ($15 per Mac on a team license), as many or as few times as you like. Skipping the renewal costs you nothing but future updates: the version you have keeps working, offline, forever. A Lifetime license includes every future update with no renewal.
4. The trial
7 days, every feature, no card and no account. When it ends, the app asks you to buy a license and otherwise leaves you alone.
5. Refunds
30 days from each charge, described fully in the refund policy. Your statutory rights are not limited by anything here.
6. Privacy
Flit processes your speech on your Mac and transmits nothing. The privacy page is the complete statement, including what the website and the purchase process handle.
7. Acceptable use
Use Flit for anything lawful. Do not use it to break the law, and do not probe, patch or wrap the app to bypass the license. That is the whole list, because with no account and no server there is nothing else to abuse.
8. What we promise, and what we do not
Flit is provided as it is. We work hard on it and it ships behind a self-test gate, but we do not warrant that it is free of defects or fit for a particular purpose, and dictation output can contain errors, so read anything important before you send it. Our total liability to you is capped at what you paid for the license.
9. Changes
If these terms change, the change is posted here with a new effective date. Changes are not retroactive: the terms you bought under keep governing that purchase.
