What actually decides it
Streaming is not a spec-sheet difference
Watching words appear as you talk changes what you do with dictation. You catch a mishearing mid-sentence, you keep going instead of stopping to check, and long dictation stops feeling like a leap of faith. Superwhisper processes after you finish, so every dictation is a short wait and a review. It is a good app; this is simply the thing you feel first.

Do both work offline?
Yes, both can transcribe entirely on your Mac. Superwhisper additionally offers cloud models you can opt into; Flit has no cloud path at all.
Can Flit transcribe an audio file?
No. Flit is dictation only: you speak and text lands at your cursor. File transcription is not built. For a recorded interview or podcast, Superwhisper or MacWhisper is the right tool.
Why is Flit so much cheaper?
